МARIA BARAKOVA
Maria was born in 2002 in Moscow. In her projects she addresses personal memory, internal conflicts of self-identity caused by mental disorders and traumatic experiences. Her series are built around personal stories and explorations of corporeality, emotional and physical violence, boundaries of personal memory and vulnerability. Personal experience of abusive relationship and depression directly influence Maria's works, making the process of creating them therapeutic. Using collage and photography, Maria tries to find ways to trust and communicate with the world around her, expressing her feelings and experiences through visual images.
